All of life is a preparation.  The big picture for me is growing closer to God through life choices and experiences that build my relationship with him.  Most of the time these choices and experiences shine the best in retrospect.  Looking back upon those seemingly bad at the time is the awareness of a life enriched by them.  All bring the Kingdom of God into fuller view from here my earthly home.

On the smaller scale there are snapshots of waiting room times.  Sitting with myself and God waiting for direction, then doing the work of preparation. Here I am, sitting on the garden bench right now.  I can see right now the gift of patience this will produce and the reflection space provided while I paint and garden.

As a “do-er”  I want to get to it.  I want to begin teaching yoga in my studio (but it’s not ready yet) I want to begin a healing ministry there as well (but I have not completed the classes)  Let’s go, let’s go  says this driven mind.  But my heart knows the gifts of preparation.

I do not equate myself with John the Baptist but he is certainly the Saint of Preparation.  He wasA voice of one calling:
“In the wilderness prepare  the way for the Lordmake straight in the desert a highway for our God.  Isaiah 40:3

As a Christian believer that is what I am called to. John already prepared the way for Jesus to walk the earth by his baptism. Jesus then directed his disciples after his resurrection:   “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  Matthew 28:18-20

“The very end of the age”  resounds for me as the journey continues to our age and beyond.  So I will take this time to patiently prepare, God will do the rest.

Blessings and Peace in Christ
